04:20 pm Hm. New perscription in my glasses does make for slightly clearer seeing. A slight difference, but in the end, I suppose its worth it. Especially now that the huge scratch is no longer on my lens. Note to world: Do NOT drop your iTouch on your head. a) it hurts and b)damaging your glasses isn't fun.
Anyways: ...when did I last update this thing? No idea. Um, Cottage times, Ontario places times, all good times. Sun, my mortal nemesis blessed me with its offering of ow, as per usual, Um, work is work. Have to send letter to Michi before I go on vacation.
Vacation! That is word of the moment anyway! Less than a week and I'm off to the Southern States for two weeks! New Orleans! Panama City! Other places! It's Moofy gone wild! Coming to a city near you! Excited am I?
Yes. To packing! Current Mood: peaceful

I hate cleaning my room. Not a surprise since at any given time, it is an epic disaster, and therefore, a quick tidy often turns into a hour long process. Case in point; bought a new jewelry box. Ended up rearrange haft the room, in order to fit it somewhere. It is still in the other room, waiting for a home. My room is now messier because I've tidied it. I understand this not. I really need like...a room for my crafting. I really do. Or a closet for clothes. That would be nice.
But I did manage to find $40 hidden in a pouch at the bottom of a random drawer. So really I'm up for the day.
Went to a wedding shower today. It was a pleasant time. Going to the wedding that is connected to that in a few weeks. The sound of the rain is nice. Current Location: My desk Current Mood: irritated Current Music: The sound of rain

09:17 pm - A brief reflection on fandoms, I would be lying if I said that the leaked concept art for the potential new Zelda game for the Wii has had no effect on me. Shamelessly lying.
I would also be lying, if I said that I did not have a really random dream that young protangonists from future yet to be created animes first went to school to be trained to be excellent warriors in their specific class of warfare. I apparently attended this school, went off to a summer camp ran by this school, which eventually had a costume competition, and a very nice indoor pool, with a big screen TV.
I would further be lying, if I understoof the subconcious direction by brain went during these times, Clearly having a mind of one's own is a whole 'nother meaning in my grey matter. Current Mood: contemplative

09:35 pm - The Convention Report Plus: The return of my floor. WHY HELLO THAR! There was a convention this weekend! I went there! And I enjoyed it.
But, let's do a rundown.
For the first time, I stayed the friday night. And that was wonderous in the non-hassaling that is Saturday morning. I got there either than Stephie and Lynn, so I claimed the hotel room, got registration and prepped for the others to arrive. And they arrived! In a blaze of luggage! And so, I ventured on to the TCC with the two of them plus Antonia (Lynn's friend, who is slowly being adopted into our group of MADNESS) and they got registered. Dinner was had and then swimming. Sleep followed eventually, though I'm not sure if much sleep was had through the blanket wars, and strangness of a hotel room. Morning provided us with cosplay. I revealed the costume to the others, and reveal to myself, that dear gods that waist cincher is tight. But breathing was possible, if movement was restricted. So onwards we ventured to the dealer's room and planning and money was spend. Pinic lunchon to follow and various running around. Saw taiko drum demo. The evening was when the partying began. It started with a few minutes of mini raving on the patio, followed by a 2.5 hour workshop on Medieval dancing that was so awesome, I cannot express the awesome. Lynn ventured home around then, since she needed to rest for the upcoming week, which was sad, but understandable. Dancing continued and then we retired to the J-pop, to dance some more.
At the Jpop there was a dance that everyone was doing, myself included. Unfortunately, I have no idea was its from. Two shakes of the arms, in upleft, upright, downleft downright, followed by one in each and then front clap, back clap jump to turn. All I know is a huge group of us was doing it for three songs. Then we congo'ed. Staggering to the room, brought us shower (Sorely needed.) Sleep, aquired however shortly. The next morning proved to be a monent of PAIN. As the stiffness of dancing and added to shoes with no support while in cosplay, not to mention the cosplay itself resulted in a moment of rolling out of bed with many creaking noises. But, off to the panels, the dealer's room again, viewings and then home. All was a good weekend,
I saw: 2 of my coworkers - expected, and one won a hall costuming award. Jealous am I? Obviously. 1 of my customers - amusing. (Her: I...know you from somewhere! Me: Hur hur hur.) 2 M.A. members - not expected, so very nice to see. Woodsy and Ruthie, in MA own the con!
I bought: 2 Buttons (A NOM one for myself, and a Failboat one for Pe) Various Prints from Arist Alley The third volume of a fancomic one of my fav artists makes A Fushigu Yugi Artbook for $5. Go me. And my prize and my baby: A Master Sword. I had to. It's beautiful and I shouldn't have, But if the forces of darkness come to this world at least I can ward them off with my awesome blade of awesome. .... It came with a scabbard too. :D
All in all a most satisfying convention. Only X number of days until the next con. Better start planning now. :D Current Mood: pleased

12:11 am Do you like Spring weather? I like spring weather. I'll even enjoy the rain so long as it doesn't turn into a million feet of snow. Don't get me wrong, I like winter. I like all the seasons, but after a while all season get old and need changing into new ones. I just hate the fact all the nice weather occurs outside and work is inside.
So, what is up with me? Hm. Work is work. (DRAMA OMG - the battle of the pet store continues. The batle front is quieter, but no less full of action.) Cosplay is going well. As I mentioned last post my cosplay blogs are all on cosplay.com while my non cosplay stuff stays here. Summer is shaping up to be a very busy one! I have many events lined up. I just need to make sure I can book the time off.
Just saw X-men wolverine today. I like it! I know there are a few glaring inaccuracies around it, but the flow and the story was so much better than the third movie. (And more Hugh Jackman. We like that. Holy Fanservice in some of it..... :D) This movie did not change my opinion that Cyclops is a tool. I'm sorry, but he is. But the movie prompet the whole OMGPOWERSLIKEWHAT conversation. So: What would your power be?
I would be called Euphoria. My ability would be to cause anyone around me to fall into a state of happiness. Happiness so strong that they couldn't react anything else around them. Non a euphoria that evil people could get while attacking, no, Happy Love Kitten Euphoria that would cause people to melt at the sight of a kitten or puppy, and render them useless. That would be my power. And I'd probably pack kitten in gun holster to lob at people (gently) to futher the effects of my power.
So what would yours be? Current Mood: cheerful

09:49 pm I have betrayed you LJ for another blog. I'm sorry but its true!
...no, its not blogger, facebook or any of those imatations, what do you take me for? I'm taking cosplay.com. It's cosplay, and that's where my mind is these days. Not that I can't post it here, because seriously its my blog and I can do what I want! BWAHAHAHA.
..... but no, I will keep it elsewhere. I will save you for other things. Like pointless summaries of whatnot and introspectives of life.
Saw some w00ts this weekend and Stephie as well. So social at times! I went to Easter Brunch today with the family. Twas a nice visiting time, and the weather was lovely. I love going to Fenlon, for holidays, Its such nice place. If only it had a chapters, than lfe would be complete there. For the most part anyway. Another work week, OMG YAY? With more Riskboard drama I'm sure. Wednesday is our victory day, so that's only two days away! Current Mood: calm

11:19 pm I MAKE EXPENSES IN EXCEL, SO I CAN EXCEL IN EXPENSES!
...... :D
Seriously. Excel makes things so wonderful. I tell excel: "You there! Tabulate for me!" Excel: "Yessum!" Outcome: IS THERE!
Anyways, with the arrival of the GST cheque and my tutoring, the amount of money going to the con is much less out of my own paycheque! OPTIMALIZATION OF PRIOIRTIES! YES, CAPLOCKS ARE ESSENTIAL TO MY STATE OF MIND.
Now for cosplay.... pattern hitch. Geometry failure means designs of the basic skirt pattern or the pattern pattern. We might go with the latter. Easier and nicer finish we hope. Need to measure for the pattern. The shirt I tried failed,
GOLD TRIM. WHAT COULD YOU BE? AND WHAT WILL YOU ADHERE TO? Price adjustment on waist cincher. Is good. Clamp artbooks for more style? Or keep in the theme? FOCUS NOT HERE FOCUS IS DANCIND ON SATURN XD Current Mood: crazy

05:49 pm Victory is mine! At least a partial victory! For Cosplay. I have committed to it, as I have now started purchasing garments for it. I found the waist cincher. That was victory in and off its self. It looks hawt too. So hawt I might pass out from lack of breathing space in my tummy regions. Seriously, though,. It should work nicely.
Skirt. I found something that might work at Good Will. The Harelequin pattern might be easier to make already partially made on the bases of the black skirt. But it will still depend on the crinoline layer, which might not arrive via my sister until later this week. The gold border will possiblely still be an issue, though the temptation to use single gold sequin thread is there. However that stuff is notorious for falling off, having worn it many a time in dance recitials, However, we wil cross that bridge. If that skirt doesn;t work, it was only 5 bucks, so that;s hardly a huge loss. Shirt: Make or buy? If I make it, it is going to be an entirely different style than a purchases one. Not a bad thing persay, but different. Note: Get clear bra straps.
Fan is on hold until I get it, but I think that project might take the less amount of stress. Painting is my stronger suit. My mother, who doesn't really approve of cosplay persay, is either humouring me greatly in this, or is secretly enjoying the ride.
To Dinner. Current Mood: accomplished

MICHI. HAPPY BIRTHDAY FOR YOU, YES?
I make no promises that this is the last LJ post for the day. I still have mins of WHAM BAM CRAZYNESS. Seriously what was in those strawberries?

11:30 pm
Crinoline, I need a crinoline skirt. Among other things. But a crinoline skirt will be a step in the right direction. A cheap one, might I add. And a really really large folding fan. A cheap one, as well. Gotta paint it. No time to work on cosplay. Stupid work. Stupid work that pays the bills, so we can cosplay. Irony doesn't taste good sometimes. Why can't there be a fabricland in the mall anymore? I don't have a black pencil crayon. I use red and black ones too much in sketching. Does the mall have decorative (external) waist cinchers? I'm like a deck of cards. I also realize that statement out of context is like, whoa, no making sense. Could someone cosplay an emoticon and make it look cool? .... I want skittles.

10:14 pm - Young Woman's Brain Rebels: Sources say she was driven mad by the need of Cosplay.
That's right. You guessed it. It's Cosplay season once again. I made a promise to myself, that if I didn't start it by March, I would not start my cosplay idea and I would just wait until CN.
This rule was warped in my own psyche and now instead of the original idea I had, that I am no longer doing, I have switch to a completely different idea, that I am starting on as we speak. In front of me is the patent Barbie stencil that is source of most of my madness. It controls me. Wish me luck, oh cruel world. The Cosplay Bug has bitten me, and it is less than two month until Animenorth. Current Location: Fleeting Esctacy - OC Remix Current Mood: crazy

And water_mage is reborn! Reborn and brand new on a brand new machine! Epic and Yay!
....I am so not used to laptop keyboards. I keep missing the shift key and hitting: \\\\\ instead. Thought I suppose this will improve with time. XD
Anyways. My new machine is a Acer 6930 gemstone laptop. It's very pretty like. With vista and junk too. Still haven\t read all the info on it just yet, so moving around it will be slow. Tomorrow, I believe I will start transfering files over to this comp, because I will need my musics,

February 28th, 2009
05:41 pm As of Today, February 28th, 2009. This will be my last post.
On this computer. Prince Philp de Compaqua is going to be officially retired. And sent to a better place. Instead, we will report to you live from our BRAND NEW MACHINE!!!
Yay!
Seriously. I now have a new computer. It is in the other room updating. I have entered the laptop age. It's a nice machine. Irony actually, since I'm actually not typing on Phil right now. But the other machine. 'cause Phil is tired and was tranfering files onto jump drives all afternoon. Poor phil. But that's besides the point.
Also irony that I haven't updated this thing for 13 weeks. Or gone on MSN for longer. Hey, the tools have to fit the life, don't they? And now we're going portable so all should be as it should be. In theory.
So, until, the next post, I bid you all fairwell. Likely to see you again... in several hours. :D (Ps. how everyone is well. <3) Current Mood: contemplative

November 22nd, 2008
09:48 pm 'Tis rather frigid outside. Clearly I have yet to adapt fully to the weather, and such. But seriously, cold.
Anyways. Went to Pacific today, first time in a long while. Did a little window shopping and ate a little tempura. And by a little, I do mean a lot. Which is really the only way to eat it. Had fun - plus! I believe I have discovered my cosplay costume for AN this year. It should be simple enough that I can pull of a more elaborate one for CN, but if it works out well, it will be a success. Especially, since I have never seen it being done before. What that is shall wait for public notification, until I know I can pull it off.
How my plan for CN, which is going as the Painted Lady from Avatar, is unchanged and should processed as schemed. Once I figure out what version/interpretation to go as anyway. Current Mood: creative

October 2nd, 2008
08:34 pm So. Glue gunning in my room, while fun, and usually with good lighting, isnt always a good idea when the window isn't open and my room is thick with glue stick fumes. On the other hand, at least my hallowe'en costume is starting to get underway - making this probably the earliest I've actually done anything. Maybe there is hope for AN next year after all?
On the other note, operation join the evil league of evil is... going slower than planned. Though, I might use jazz instead of ballad due to lower register-ness.
Debate is on tonight. Perhaps I will watch a little such that I can watch all the leader squirm out of direct answers.
My predictions for this year!!!!:
Harper - Scary Robot with Deat Squirell upon head Dion - Passionate but lacking in ground Layton - Flashes CrestWhite Strips smile at camera 100 times a minute May - Uh... dunno. Yay! Current Mood: busy
